Have you always wanted to participate in a REAL
archaeological excavation?  Here's your chance!

The Lost Towns Project accepts volunteers five days a week, Monday - Friday. We also have a limited number of formal internships available to qualified students. We also hold three Saturday Dig Days during the spring and summer at London Town, and Saturday Lab Days in the winter.

We encourage citizens to join us on real sites and in our Laboratory for "on the job" training. You will work alongside the team of professional archaeolgists on some of the most interesting sites under excavation in North America. From Native American campsites to Colonial mansions to modest tenant houses, the team works on several archaeological sites each season. Lab activities include washing, sorting, and cataloging artifacts, conducting specialty analysis, assisting with artifact conservation, and occasionally working with team members on exhibitions. We also have research opportunities available for volunteers who enjoy sleuthing in archives and libraries for primary documents.

No Experience is required, and you can volunteer as often or as little as you'd like. For more information - or to sign up for our weekly email - contact our volunteer coordinator, Ms. Jessie Grow at 410-222-1318.
